Collaborative Practice
Collaborative Law Institute of Minnesota

CLI-Sponsored Trainings

The Institute provides essential training to improve collaborative skills, including ongoing training workshops and training from international experts. The foundation for collaborative work is a required 2-day basic training course developed and presented by experienced collaborative professionals who are members of the CLI training committee. This training is presented twice a year to give new members an opportunity for basic training within a short time of joining the Institute. Past trainings on a variety of collaborative-related topics have been videotaped and are replayed annually to permit new members to have the same training experience as older members. New trainings, which may or may not be video-taped for replay, are presented annually. Training opportunities are provided throughout the year.

Training Requirements for Continued CLI Membership

Members, including supporting partners, must agree to attend “The New Collaborative Experience” (2-day basic training) during their first year of membership.

Thereafter, professional members are required to complete 12 education credits every 2 years on topics relevant to Collaborative practice. Up to 6 of those credits may be earned at substantive regional group meetings , as approved by the training committee. Trainings sponsored by groups other than CLI may qualify for CLI education credits upon approval of the training committee.

Recommended Additional Training Within One Year of Membership
